September 2022 Meeting

Call to order

• The 3rd meeting of St Mikes Dad’s was held on 9/27 at The Pointe. It began at 7PM presided over by Mike Wolf with Fabian Yaklin as Secretary(not in attendance) and Evan Cahanes as Treasure
• Motion to call to order, second to complete

Officers Report

Treasure – (Financial Report)

• Evan updated the group on our continued progress on completing our Non-Profit status with the hope it would be complete and bank account opened by the next meeting. Assured group no financial transactions will be going through personal accounts.

Secretary– (Old Business)

• Shed project on hold until we can get account open to raise funds or get 1 large donor to donate shed.
• Discussed Golf Tournament to which Nook Chin volunteered to run understanding he will be supported by group, Mark Lenheardt volunteered to assist as well. Idea is to select location and date in near future where the real work will begin to set up event. Will need to set up a committee.
• No other current action items/projects ongoing

President- (New Business)

• General Announcements
  • Current Update – Appreciation for all who have joined and are participating with explanation of where we are going and what we are trying to establish. 
  • New Motions/Projects pre submitted by School/members – 
    • Talked off the retaining wall project at the playground and its needs. Set a date of 8/15, explained the needs and the message a follow up would be sent out to verify details. Charlie Pehrson said he would volunteer his skid loader to help.
    • No other motions/projects at this time from the school
  • Open Discussion New Motions/Projects from Members
    • Communication / Networking improvement – Jim Erickson brought the motion to look at other communication options other than monthly update email. He proposed looking at and selecting a social media platform to use and also volunteered to look into it and present findings at next meeting. Sports engine, facebook, etc. were mentioned.
    • Dan Draine mentioned a “Blue Dad’s Group” or finding a way to do something fun for the kids.
    • No new motions at this time.
