April 2023 Meeting

Call to order

  • The 9th meeting of St Mikes Dad’s was held on 4/26/22 at the VFW. It began at 7PM presided over by Mike Wolf with Fabian Yaklin as Secretary and Evan Cahanes as Treasure

Secretary– (Old Business)

  • Shed project on hold until spring. We will need to decide if it is a project we want to fund or if we want to continue to look for a sponsor/donator.
  • James Kuca was in discussion w/ Ms. Vochoska and Mr C to look at installing a bench, fence, or raised wall to protect flower garden area N of garbage dumpsters on S. side of building. Discussion is ongoing awaiting final decision on what they want w/ work to begin in the spring. On Hold until Spring
  • “Dad’s Week/Day” – Thanks to those that participated. (Jake Uttich, Ben Wise, Jacob Weese, Mark Lenhardt) It will continue to be last Thursday of the month. 
  • Cubbie upgrade (paint) for AP. Matt Arnds has stepped up to lead. Just need to procure the items needed and send a sign up. Will be done in the summer.
  • No other current action items/projects ongoing
  • Shirts? We have discussed buying some “St Mikes Dad’s” t-shirts, should we follow up on this idea? Discuss logo options provided by Nok Chim and Brittany Seaburg. School is willing to help. 
  • Thanks for the help with hanging white board in Mrs. Marshall’s (Matt Marshall, Terry Walters, Mike Goracke) room and those that helped (Fabian Yaklin and son) with projects requested from the “musical” group at the school!

President- (New Business)

  • General Announcements
    • Current Update 
    • New Motions/Projects pre submitted by School/members 
      • Basketball “Shot Club” t-shirts. Mike Wolf and Joel Pingel w/ the help of Mrs. Shimek will be rolling out a “shot club” to St Mikes basketball players. This is a summer long event with participants receiving a t-shirt upon completion. Is the dad’s group willing to buy the shirts? (Estimate in the $500 range)
      • Brandi McColm from the school reached out to see if the “Dad’s Group” will host the 2023 Family Picnic this fall. We said yes and therefore are looking to find a duo to “co-host” representing the group and work with the already in place committee within the school to set it up and put people to work! Items Including… setting up games, prizes, help coordinate food trucks, etc.
